Johnson County improves to 27-0 with 93-62 victory over Labette

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Kara Stricklin had 20 points and six rebounds, Mia Adams added 19 points and seven boards, and Makayia Johnson scored 11 points in her first collegiate start to power the No. 1-ranked Johnson County Community College women's basketball team to a 93-62 win over Labette Community College on Saturday, improving to 27-0 on the season. he Cavaliers also extended their regular season winning streak to 89 straight games.

Stricklin had her second highest scoring game of the season and reached double figures for the 11th time. She connected on 7-of-14 shots including 5-of-11 from 3- point range.

Adams was equally efficient, shooting 8-of-16 from the field with three 3-pointers. Johnson was even more impressive, making 5-of-6 attempts to while adding six rebounds to match her season high.

Layla Scott flirted with a double-double, finishing with nine points and eight rebounds. Makenna Jennings matched Scott with eight boards and added six points. Jade Warren provided a spart off the bench with nine points and seven rebounds, and Anonda Ford contributed seven rebounds, five assists and four points.

Aubreyanna Yelverton led Labette with 15 points, while Najya O'Neal and Mattea Henry each added 12 points.

Johnson County will look to extend its winning streak Wednesday when Fort Scott visits for a 5:30 tip off.
