Bruce selected week nine KJCCC East Baseball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Following a dominant four-game sweep over Neosho County last week, Johnson County Community College catcher Boston Bruce has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division Baseball Player of the Week for week nine. He becomes the fourth different Cavaliers player to be selected this season.

Boston Bruce hit .833 (10-for-12) and slugged 1.917 to lead a Cavaliers offense that outscored Neosho County 69- 3 in a four-game sweep in conference play last week. The sophomore catcher had five singles, a double, and four home runs, with one home run being recorded in each of the four games. Bruce scored 10 runs and drove in 10 throughout the series, and is now hitting .434 with eight doubles, three triples, and nine homers.

In KJCCC East Division play, Bruce ranks fourth in batting average, second in on-base percentage (.552), fifth in hits (46), and sixth in slugging (.821).
