OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – A road doubleheader sweep over Amarillo College to open their 2026 season, the Johnson County Community College baseball team was led by the first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball Players of the Week in Ryan Bradford and Brett Pearcy picking up week one honors.

Ryan Bradford enjoyed a strong collegiate debut to help Johnson County sweep Amarillo in a season-opening road doubleheader. The freshman was one-for-three with a solo home run and scored twice in a 10-8 win, followed by a three-run homer and two-run double to drive in five runs in a 20-9 victory in game two.

Brett Pearcy was called upon to stop Amarillo in the bottom of the seventh inning to preserve a 10-8 victory in the season opener for the Cavaliers. The freshman right-hander allowed a single and struck out three to earn his first collegiate save as Johnson County went on to sweep a four-game series from the Badgers.
