Five JCCC baseball players named as Ban Johnson Collegiate League All-Stars

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Five members of the Johnson County Community College baseball team were named as Ban Johnson Collegiate Leage All-Stars.

First baseman Easton Roe, outfielder Boston Bruce, right-hand pitcher Hudson Byrd shortstop Lukas Wilson were selected to the National Division team and shortstop Chris Mancinas was an American Division team selection.

Since 1969, the Kansas City Royals have hosted the Ban Johnson Collegiate League's top players for annual All-Star Game. The 2025 All-Star Game will take place Wednesday, August 6 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Roe, who will continue his playing career at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, was an All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference East Division performer for the Cavaliers last spring.  Roe started 60 games last spring and batted .308 (64-for-208) with 14 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs, 31 walks, 50 runs and 50 RBI.

Bruce, Byrd and Mancinas will be sophomores for the Cavaliers this year. Bruce, who also was an All-KJCCC East performer, batted .373 (47-for-126) with seven doubles, four home runs, 35 walks, 38 runs and 40 RBI in 2025. Bryd appeared in 18 games, all in relief. In 32 and one-third innings pitched, he posted 48 strikeouts with an ERA of 3.62. Mancinas started 56 games at shortstop and batted .292 (50-for-172) with eight doubles, two triples, three homers, 33 walks, 23 stolen bases, 50 runs and 40 RBI.

Those four players helped Johnson County to a 53-13 record, the second-most wins in program history, Kansas Jayhawk Conference East and Region 6 titles, and a sixth-place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I World Series.

Wilson, who was a talented prep player at Staley High School, returns to the JCCC program after redshirting the 2025 season. In 2024, he was rated the No. 24 overall player in the state of Missouri and No. 4 shortstop by Prep Baseball Report and the No. 57 overall recruit and No. 12 shortstop in Missouri by Perfect Game. Wilson was named Missouri Class 6A All-State second-team as a senior.

This summer Roe played for Bob Allen Ford Stars. Bruce, Byrd and Wilson played for Building Champions and Mancinas played for Milgram Mustangs.

Ban Johnson is Kansas City's summer collegiate baseball league. Founded in 1927, the league features area college players on twelve teams that play at Creekside Baseball Complex in Parkville, MO. A highlight of each season is the annual All-Star Game hosted by the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. David Cone, Rick Sutcliffe and Blake Treinen are among Ban Johnson alums that progressed to outstanding MLB careers.
