OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the second consecutive week, the Johnson County Community College women's soccer team is the consensus No. 1-ranked Division II team, receiving the top spot in both the NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches polls. It is the third straight week to be No. 1 in USC poll.
The Cavaliers are currently stand 17-0-0 and lead the country with 13 shutouts and goals against average of 0.24.
Offensively, JCCC ranks second in total points (241), fourth in goals scored (82) and lead NJCAA D-II in assists (77).
In net, the Cavaliers are led by sophomore goalkeeper Avery Young. She is 15-0-0 with six full shutouts. She has allowed only three goals, which ranks third nationally, with a goals against average, also the third best in NJCAA D-II women's soccer. She has been selected the KJCCC D-II goalkeeper of the week in seven of nine weeks, and twice was the national goalkeeper of the week.
Offensively JCCC is led by sophomore midfielders Brecken Hoy and Taum Bresette. Hoy has 13 goals and 15 assists for 41 points. Bresette is second in all three categories with nine goals, nine assists and 27 points.
