Young earns second NJCAA D-II Goalkeeper of the Week honor

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the second time this season, Johnson County Community College sophomore Avery Young has been selected the NJCAA Division II Goalkeeper of the Week. Her first national recognition came in week two.

Just a day earlier, Young was also named the KJCCC D-II Goalkeeper of the Week for the seventh time in eight weeks.

Last week, Young picked up to more shutouts to her impressive résumé, recording a 2-0 win at Highland and a 1-0 win at home against Neosho County. She faced four shots in total, turning away two in each match.

Nationally, Young ranks second in NJCAA Division II in save percentage (.949) and fourth in both goals against (3) and goals against average (0.25).
