OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Johnson County Community College women's soccer team extended its undefeated run to start the season with a 3-1 road victory over Allen Community College on Saturday afternoon.

It was a milestone win for Cavaliers head coach Jim Schwab, who earned his 400th career victory in his 27th season leading the program. Schwab becomes just the second head women's soccer coach in NJCAA history to reach 400 wins, joining former Lewis & Clark head coach Tim Rooney, who compiled 476 victories.

The afternoon was also memorable for sophomore forward Brecken Hoy. The Bishop Carroll (Wichita) product assisted on all three Johnson County goals, setting a new single-game career high. Hoy now leads all Kansas Jayhawk Conference players with nine assists this season.

Hoy helped get the Cavaliers on the board with a perfectly placed corner kick that Lily Marshall finished to open the scoring. Just three minutes later, Hoy earned her second assist when Samantha Pond headed in another corner for her fourth goal of the year.

Allen cut into JCCC's 2-0 advantage with a goal from Mylee Schroeder in the 50th minute, but Hoy sealed the victory with her third assist of the match — another corner kick converted by Ashley Chaput.

Sophomore goalkeeper Avery Young improved to 12-0-0 on the season, stopping two of the three shots she faced. Her 0.30 goals-against average currently ranks fourth nationally, and her .945 save percentage is second-best in the country.

Johnson County (12-0-0) travels to Highland on Wednesday for a KJCCC Division II matchup before returning home to host Neosho County on Saturday, October 11, in its final regular-season home appearance.
