OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2-ranked Johnson County Community College women's soccer team continued its dominant 2025 campaign Monday night with a convincing 4-0 conference victory over Highland at the JCCC Soccer Complex.

The Cavaliers controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting the Scotties 26-4 overall and 15-1 on goal, while recording their sixth consecutive shutout.

Freshman defender Leonie Widmann (Markfrafler Gymnasium/Frieburg, Germany) opened the scoring in the 12th minute, notching her second goal in as many matches off a setup from sophomore midfielder Brecken Hoy (Bishop Carroll Catholic/Wichita, Kan.). Hoy struck again late in the first half, delivering a perfect feed to sophomore forward Jill Lenherr (Hayden/Topeka, Kan.), who buried her fourth goal of the year to give JCCC a 2-0 halftime lead.

The Cavaliers wasted little time extending their advantage after the break. Just two minutes into the second half, sophomore midfielder Lily Marshall (Gardner-Edgerton/Gardner, Kan.) tallied her first goal of the season on an assist from freshman forward Daby Howard (Bishop Carroll Catholic/Wichita, Kan.) who now leads the conference with six assists.

Freshman midfielder Jade Smallwood (Mulvane/Mulvane, Kan.) sealed the win in the 85th minute with her second goal of the year, assisted by sophomore midfielder Tatum Bresette (Lee's Summit/Lee's Summit, Mo.).

In goal, sophomores Avery Young (Spring Hill/Spring Hill, Kan.) and Lena-Marie Winkler (BORG Schoren/Dornbin, Austria) shared the clean sheet. Winkler stopped Highland's lone shot on target.

With the win, Johnson County improves to 7-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. The Cavaliers return to action Wednesday night on the road against Neosho County Community College (1-4-1, 0-2-1).
