OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College women's soccer standout Emily Crosby has been honored as the 2024-25 Academic All-America® College Division Women's At-Large Team Member of the Year, as announced Tuesday by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Crosby becomes just the second female student-athlete in JCCC history and third in CSC history to receive this prestigious recognition. She joins former softball star Jordan Harrison, who earned the honor during the 2022-23 season.
Crosby, a defensive anchor for the Cavaliers women's soccer team, was a consensus All-American earning first-team by both the NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches. She also garnered KJCCC and Region 6 Division II first-team selections and was voted KJCCC D-II Defensive Player of the Year. Crosby helped lead JCCC to a 19-1-4 record, a national runner-up finish, and a defense that ranked among the best in the country with 18 shutouts and a 0.41 goals-against average. She also scored one goal over the season.
In her two seasons, Crosby played a pivotal role in JCCC's combined 37-5-6 record, with 33 shutouts, securing two conference championships and back-to-back national championship game appearances.
She joins other national division winners including Grace McCallum (University of Utah, D-I), Madison Murr (Cal State San Marcos, D-II), Hope Shue (Middlebury College, D-III), and Cristelle Rodriquez (Doane University, NAIA).
