OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Johnson County Community College softball team kept rolling Tuesday afternoon, sweeping Coffeyville Community College in a conference doubleheader to extend its winning streak to 16 games while improving to 29‑9 overall and remaining perfect in conference play at 14‑0.

The Cavaliers' offense was relentless in both games, scoring a dozen runs in each contest and backing dominant pitching performances to complete the sweep. The Cavaliers outscored Coffeyville 24-1, winning 12-0 and 12-1.

Johnson County wasted little time jumping on Coffeyville in the opener, scoring three runs in the second inning and adding nine more over the next two frames en route to a 12‑0 shutout.

Reese Pattison led the Cavaliers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBIs. Her biggest swing came in the fourth inning, when she launched a grand slam to center field, putting the game firmly out of reach. Reagan Neitzel finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Kennedy Glassford drove in two and crossed the plate twice. Olivia Ellis added a pair of hits and an RBI, and Makenzie Yoder chipped in an RBI from the leadoff spot.

In the circle, Kyleigh Whitehurst was dominant, throwing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three to earn the win. The Cavaliers' defense was flawless behind her, turning in a clean sheet with no errors.

Johnson County carried the momentum into the nightcap, erupting for seven runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach early.

Pattison once again delivered at the plate, finishing with two hits and four RBIs, including a bases-clearing double. Alaryce Millard had a big game, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base, while Katie Kolarik went 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored. Yoder, Glassford, Neitzel, Ellis, and Katie Courter all drove in runs as the Cavaliers totaled 13 hits.

Elsa Carrillo picked up the win in the circle, working six strong innings. She allowed one unearned run on six hits while walking one and striking out one to keep Coffeyville at bay.

With the sweep, Johnson County continued its surge through the conference schedule, firmly positioning itself at the top of the standings. The Cavaliers have now won 16 straight games and have shown no signs of slowing down as postseason play approaches.

Johnson County will look to keep the momentum going when it returns to conference action later this week.
