OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced that Johnson County Community College pitcher Jalin Lavers has been selected the Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week for week 11. She was one of six pitchers who were nominated this week.

The sophomore right-hander hurled two complete-game victories for the Cavaliers last week, which included a six-inning win over No. 22-ranked Kansas City Kansas. Lavers allowed only one run over 13 innings while striking out 16 batters. In a 6-0 shutout at Fort Scott on Saturday afternoon, she mowed down a career-high nine batters while allowing only four singles.

The two wins last week allowed Lavers to improve to 9-3 overall in the circle this season with 65 strikeouts. Her nine victories and 65 strikeouts both rank sixth in the conference, and her 3.37 earned run average ranks eighth.
