OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Teams were announced Thursday and Johnson County sophomore softball pitcher Maggie McNally was selected as a College Division recipient of the CSC Academic All-America® Team.
McNally is one of six female athletes be honored all-time, and the second softball player.
This past season, McNally helped lead Johnson County to a conference championship, a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II World Series, a 46-12 overall record and No. 7 ranking in the final NJCAA D-II Poll.
McNally earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II first-team honors and was selected to the NJCAA D-II World Series All-Tournament Team. During the season, she was selected at the KJCCC D-II Pitcher of the Week five times, the most of any pitcher in the conference.
In the circle, McNally finished 16-5 with two saves, 13 complete games with two shutouts. She posted a team-best earned run average of 2.32 with 137 strikeouts in 132 and two-thirds innings pitched while holding opposing batters to a .197 average. Her 16 victories tied for fifth in the conference, and she ranked second in ERA, tied for second in saves, sixth in strikeouts, fifth in strikeouts/7 (7.23) and seventh in WHIP. Nationally she ranked 24th in ERA, tied for 32nd in victories and 43rd in strikeouts.
For her career, McNally appeared in 54 games, 44 as a starter. She finished with a record of 29-9, with two saves and 23 complete games pitched. She struck out 269 batters over 246 and one-third innings and posted an ERA of 2.50 with a WHP of 1.39. McNally's 29 wins tie for 18th on JCCC's career chart. She also ranks ninth all-time in career starts, 16th in innings pitched, 20th in completed games and seventh in career strikeouts.
McNally will continue her career at Mount Mercy University.
