OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sixteen Johnson County Community College student-athletes (9 female, 7 male) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's College Division At-Large Teams this week.
The nine female representatives were Ashley Chaput, Brecken Hoy, Lily Marshall and Avery Young of the soccer team, Elsa Carillo, Alaryce Millard, Reagan Neitzel and Makenzie Yoder of the softball team and Kara Stricklin of the basketball team.
The seven male student-athletes were Boston Bruce, Logan Groh, Ashton Hartwig and Briggs Roe of the baseball team, Gavin Harvey and Aidan Wing of the basketball team and Kael Drummond of the soccer team.
All 16 student-athletes advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot for a national vote with winners announced later in July. In the seven-year existence of the CSC Academic All-America® program at the college division, Johnson County has produced 12 Academic All-Americans: Dylan Bierman (Baseball-2019), Georgia Vernardakis (Women's Soccer-2019), Rylie Barnum (Volleyball-2020), Gracie LaForge (Volleyball-2021), Alan Lopez (Men's Soccer-2023), Jaydyn Troutman (Volleyball-2023), Jordan Harrison (Softball-2023), Maggie McNally (Softball-2024), Aspen Burgardt (Softball-2025, Emily Crosby (Soccer-2025, Montana Rose-Currey (Soccer-2025), Brandon Sims (Basketball-2025). Harrison was also selected the College Division recipient of the CSC Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award in 2023 and last year Emily Crosby was the recipient of the CSC Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award.
JCCC has also produced 58 total CSC Academic All-District® Men's and Women's College Division At-Large, 34 female and 24 male.
CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team selections were required to have posted a 3.50 or better GPA, completed at least two semesters at their current school, played in at least half their team's competitions, and be considered a starter or key contributor.
